"Transforming Lives, One Kick at a Time with NL Tigers Taekwondo!"
NL tigers taekwondo program structure
NL Tigers Taekwondo provides comprehensive instruction by teaching students both the theoretical aspects and practical techniques of Taekwondo. In learning Taekwondo theories, students will encounter various topics, including the history of Taekwondo, the culture (some Korean language) of Taekwondo, the philosophy of Taekwondo (oriental philosophy), the policies of Taekwondo, the leadership of Taekwondo, the pedagogy (teaching and coaching) of Taekwondo, and the management of Taekwondo. In addition to these, some topics related to science include human anatomy, motor behavior (motor learning, motor control, and motor development), exercise psychology, exercise physiology, kinesiology (anatomy and biomechanics), oriental medicine (meridians), exercise nutrition, and athletic training. Before being taught, the skills will be analyzed kinesiologically (anatomical analysis and biomechanical analysis). Based on these analyses, instructions will be given to help students perform effectively, efficiently, and safely.
Before learning the techniques of Taekwondo, students need to streach their muscles, tendons, ligaments, and skin tissues to improve their flexibility. NL Tigers Taekwondo will use four kinds of streaching methods (static, dynamic, ballistic, and PNF) for improving flexibility.
In learning the practical techniques of Taekwondo, students will master basic techniques such as stances, punching techniques, striking techniques, thrusting techniques, blocking techniques, and eight-count motions. Additionally, they will learn application techniques including forms, sparring techniques, and breaking techniques.
